How To Quickly get your Backlinks Indexed in 3 Easy Steps

Hey Hey my friend!!

Let’s have some fun for the next few minutes and talk Backlinks! Specifically, how to get backlinks indexed  that you have been working so hard to create.

how to get backlinks indexedIf you are at all working to get your site to position one in Google you may know that having solid backlinks is an essential ingredient to the SEO sauce.

But are you just running around building backlinks like rat droppings?

I like to be organized in my business and know my hard work is paying off so before I get into how to get backlinks indexed we need to know exactly WHERE your backlinks are.

So this leads me to a very important question…

Are you keeping a log or excel sheet with everywhere you drop a backlink?

If not SHAME ON YOU and more importantly put one together TODAY!

Why would you want to keep a log of all your backlinks? Well there are a couple reason for this

1. To create a systematic, duplicatable link network that you can use for each page you want to rank.

2. To create, submit and ping your backlinks  as an RSS feed and ping your list of backlinks as well.

Sometimes you may need to point Google in the right direction and let them know where your backlinks are.

Some people like to only ping their backlinks but I like to take it a step further by creating an RSS feed and submitting it to all the major RSS directories AND pinging the RSS feed as well.

So that’s what leads me to this article. Over the next few minutes I will walk your through exactly how to get your backlinks indexed and give your site better link juice.

How To Get Backlinks Indexed:

Step #1: Create Your Backlinks RSS Feed

If you do have an excel sheet of all your backlinks open up the file and copy all the backlinks in that file (up to 500 at a time) and go to

BulkPing RSS Creator (<- Link opens in a new window)

1. Enter Your Keywords in the Feed Title

2. Enter Your Website URL underneath that

(You can leave the Feed.xml path section empty)

3. Enter A short Description of your site in the “Feed Main Description” and include your keywords

4. Enter the full list of backlinks in the “URL Link” Section

Once that is done you can skip the other boxes and hit “Create RSS Feed” let the software do it’s magic and when it spits out your RSS link copy that and go to step 2.

Step 2: Submit Your Feed

Take the RSS feed you just created and copied and open up

BulkPing RSS Submit (<- Link opens in a new window)

1. Enter the RSS feed you just created where it says “RSS URL”

2. Enter Your Keyword in the “RSS Title”

3.  Enter Your Site URL

4. Enter Your Email

5. Enter the decription of your site.

Before you hit Submit make sure all “RSS Directories” are checked off

once that is done lets move on to step 3

Step 3: Ping Your RSS Feed Along with the list of Backlinks

Grab your RSS feed once again and open

BulkPing Ping (<- Link opens in a new window)

1. Paste Your RSS Feed URL + the list of backlinks

2. Enter Your Keyword

3. Enter The “Captcha”

4. Hit “Send Ping”

This can take up to 30 minutes so you can move on and get started on the other 500 URL’s OR continue building backlinks.

How to Get Backlinks Indexed: Take it a step Further

If you want to take this process even further you may want to consider submitting your RSS feed to ALL major Social bookmarking sites by running it through Ping.fm or Onlywire.

That’s pretty much it my friend. It’s as easy as 1,2,3 to get backlinks indexed by Google. This way you are making sure your hard work of building backlinks is paying off.

If you do NOT get anything from this article make sure YOU START KEEPING A LOG of all your backlinks.

You will be able to use and reuse those sources to create future backlinks and start creating a system.

To your Indexing Success,

If you think this was a BADASS article Give it a “Thumbs Up” and subscribe to my RSS feed in the top right..

  1. Thanks a lot for this information on Backlinking!

I am going to use this technique right now for a bunch of my sites. What i was wondering though by doing this are you also creating backlinks for the pages you are linked on when you submit the rss feeds?

    1. You are welcome Kevin. I am actually not sure if submitting your RSS feed to the directories creates backlinks. I just recently starting using RSS but I will definitely do some more research.

If you want to create backlinks to your RSS feed you can run it through Ping.fm or Onlywire for an extra boost.

  2. This is something I had not done for any of my backlinks, I am assuming you can do this for backlinks from guest posts and backlinks from comments, or is this pointless when your backlinks are from comments (especially if they are nofollow?)

    1. Yes absolutely I do this for ALL my backlinks including no follow links. I have read many opinions on no follow links some say to focus only on do follow other say have 90% do follow 10% no follow and the most recent article I read on seomoz said to have a balanced amount of no follow vs do follow. So it’s a real touchy, opinion based topic.

I have seen many of no follow backlinks get indexed and show up in yahoo site explorer so I quickly chose to create backlinks whether it do follow or not but of course a bigger focus on finding do follow links.

  3. Wow Joshua, that’s pretty powerful. I keep a data sheet of my backlinks as well and I’ve been pinging them too but I didn’t know we could create and submit them as RSS feeds. I’ve been using Pingler with each backlink and that takes a very long time because you can only ping one URL at a time. This is going to help with both backlinks and saving time which I desperately need. I really appreciate you sharing this and I’ll get started with BulkPing right away.

  4. Hi Joshua, very nice post buddy 🙂

Link building is a number game.

I myself find there are three ways to go with link building. The first way is to keep building links. As many as possible and forget about getting those links indexed. Because as you keep building links, even if the percentages of your links getting indexed is small, it still adds up.

The second route is to build less links but get them indexed every time. I know this might not be the case, especially if you work with article marketing and blog networks. They won’t tell you the URLs.

And the final route is to build as many links as possible and get them indexed. This should be the way to go but only a few do this. And I will try my best to go this way 😀

Thanks for sharing this great post! Have a nice day.

    Duy.

  5. Hello Joshua , I knew little about rss before I read this passage ,thanks for it helps me so much 🙂 and I have a question is that:

when I am creating the RSS feed (in the 1st step),I’m required to fill the blank with
Your WebSite’s URL: ex.: http://www.mysite.com/ ,what is the “website url” here? Does it mean the website to which I create the backlinks ? I mean, if I get 100 urls with backlinks to http://www.aaaaa.com (just for instance) , and I want to create the rss feed(.xml file) ,I have to fill the blank with “http://www.aaaaa.com”,is that right ?

In that case,if the 100 urls link to more than one websites, suppose http://www.aaaaa.com, http://www.bbbbb.com, http://www.ccccc.com ,but I can only input one website here,so I choose http://www.aaaaa.com, will it happen : some urls couldn’t be indexed ?

Also in the 2nd step there is one site url required to input.

My English is not good enough,I have to say sorry for this… waiting for your reply, thank you!

    1. Hey Kingkong lol…Yes you are right you will input http://www.aaaa.com. I personally keep a separate file of my backlinks for each site so I don’t mix up my backlinks and have that multiple domain problem.

If you have multiple sites and multiple backlinks from the same site you can create a different rss feed for bbbb.com and then do it again for cccc.com.

Just start keeping your websites separate.

      1. Thank you for your reply~
Usually how long does it takes to get the backlinks indexed ?I have finished the 3 steps yesterday, but it seems none get crawled yet now 🙁
do I need the repeat the steps for more times ?

        1. Check back in about a week or so. Have a bit of patience my friend and give it some time. SEO is a marathon not a sprint 8)

You can do it again in a few days if you’d like.

  6. Hey Joshua!! thank you very much for this amazing post. It was very helpful. I´d like to ask you: How do i know that my backlinks are indexed (especially when Yahoo Site Explorer is dead:() and does this indexing of my backlinks help to boost my rankings? Thank you for your help!

    1. Hey Tina! Yes it does suck that Yahoo shut down their site explorer. An alternative is SEO spyglass which you can download their free version. Just google SEO spyglass and its the first result. There are also other paid services like Majestic Explorer but you should be ok with Spyglass.

And yes of course it is crucial for Google to index your backlinks if not it does not help your rankings at all to have links that are not indexed. If Google doesn’t index your backlinks they basically don’t exist and you won’t get credit for them.

  7. Hello Mr Joshua Zamora, thank you for the guide, i am new here, i am still confuse… At the step 1 (4), there are URL links (recomended 500), How can i get 500 URL link..? and at the step 2, there are RSS URL and RSS Title, what are the different between RSS URL and RSS Title ..? Should it put “www” at the RSS URL…?. I am apologize for my english. It’s not excellent. I am from indonesia. Thank you

    1. Hey Daeng,

when I say 500 links this means that you have built 500 links to your website. You can get backlinks from a ton of different ways Article links, press releases, document sharing sites etc. the RSS url is the feed that you create of all your links. the URL is the actually link and the Title should be the main keyword you are targeting.

  8. Hi Joshua,
I just come across your blog today and start using Bulkping. Although I used it before for pinging my webpages but not to index the backlinks. Thanks for sharing the way to index backlinks.

    1. Hey Zahoor,

Glad to have you here man. How did you find my site? 8) just curious. And yea Bulkping is excellent and has several services that help you do quite a few different things. I’m glad you enjoyed the post.

  9. If nothing the MOST important takeaway was to store all my backlinks in an excel sheet. You wont beleive how much this is important in the context of backlinks getting crawled. Thanks!

  10. Thanks for the thread. I out source alot of my backlinks, they always send the urls they submitted them to, i just recently started investigating indexing links and i found your tip on keeping a list simple. I don’t know why i never thought of it. I would assume that any decent or high ranking site you have a link on would be crawled regularly, so your advice i believe would mainly be for sites with a lower page rank. I am guessing that any link on a site that isn’t crawled regularly Would not be a good idea especially now with penguin and panda ?

    1. Hey man,

yes you are correct some links get indexed right away and some are a bit harder and require more work. With a service like lindexed or backlinksindexer you can get 80+% of our links indexed.

  11. WOW! That is all I can say. I have paid for this service on Fiverr before and it adds up. It was a bit intimidating at first but after reading you post a couple of times and then slowly following the directions- I did it!! I now feel like a SUPERHERO!!! No joke!

Obviously this was a great post and until I get it stuck in my head I will be spending all of my time here, following your instructions. Thanks, really, THANKS for providing such great content that is super helpful. This has been a changing moment for me in my site operations.

    Have a Happy New Year!!!
    Sherry

  12. So I have been reading your article and I have been thinking a bit about this,
“1. To create a systematic, duplicatable link network that you can use for each page you want to rank.”

Not sure I understand it, if you do the same steps for every page then why do you need a record? Sorry, I just don’t understand- a lot!

    Thanks,
    Sherry

    1. I keep a record for 2 reasons.

      1. To do my indexing steps.
      2. To be able to go back and put links on those same sites for every keywords I want to target. Kind of like building your own network of sites where you can get backlinks from.
