The Anatomy of A “Guru” Type Squeeze Page Funnel

Hey Hey!

Today I have a pretty cool video to share with you. I have been getting several questions in my 10k Subscriber Challenge about how I have my funnel setup and how my follow up sequence is. So I decided to put together a video and show you a sneak peak of the entire backend of my business.

[box type=”important”]In the video below I mention that I use OptimizePress as my preferred WordPress theme for creating high converting squeeze pages. For some people the $97 price point of OptimizePress may be a little out of budget so for the next few days you can get a very cool WordPress Plugin which is being sold as a Dimesale over at the FSO forum. This cool little plugin works very similar to OptimizePress in the sense that everything is “click to activate” etc. Check it out here << You can also see a demo video below

Now that we got that out of the way let’s jump into my squeeze page funnel. This is the exact funnel that has been used and will continue to be used by all the big name Guru’s online who have built a massive business and following.

A Look At My Squeeze Page Funnel:

That breaks down my squeeze page funnel as well as my follow up sequence which helps to convert those subscribers into buyers via my 7 day Follow up sequence. As I mentioned before this is the exact funnel that was taught to me when I first got started online and I continue to use it till this day. This funnel works because it allows you to lead with value and open up the trust barrier.

Here is how my funnel looks like in simple image format:

Resources Mentioned in The Video:

1. OptimizePress WordPress Theme: This is the theme that I use to create all of my squeeze pages, sales pages, and membership sites. It’s really an all in one WordPress theme for running a successful online business. If you can’t afford OptimizePress but still want to create professional Squeeze Pages you can get Squeeze Optimizer at a Dimesale for the next few days.

2. Qody’s Redirector: This cool little plugin allows me to create a redirect on any page of my site without an exit pop up that most redirect plugins use. This plugin automatically redirects visitors once their mouse starts moving towards the “x” in their browser. I use this on my Thank You Page a.k.a OTO page to redirect visitors to the salespage.

That is it for this weeks update my friend. I am loving the feedback I am getting on my list building series and as always if you have any questions at all please feel free to leave them below.

292 Subscribers in 9 Days – Banner Ads + Youtube Marketing

Hey Hey!

I’m back with update video #3. Over the last 10 days or so there have been some great list building going on and I’m happy to report that I have broken the 6,000 subscribers mark! In this update you will learn a little bit about how I used banner ads, video marketing and a couple more solo ads to add an additional 292 subscribers to my list.

I’ve also been using my Free Video Marketing Report a bit more as a list building tool since I’ve been noticing that my aweber funnel for my Youtube Training has been converting a bit higher then the funnel I have set up for my Free WordPress Training.

So let’s go ahead and jump into this bad boy. This video will run for about 9 minutes but it’s well worth every second 🙂

292 Subscribers Update Video:

Resources Mentioned in The Video:

1. My Video Marketing Training: Learn my exact formula that I use to quickly rank simple Youtube Videos that bring me optins and sales on a daily basis.

2. Warrior Forum Banner Advertising Page: If you have an account on the Warrior Forum this is where you go to upload a banner. It costs $100 for a 24 hour slot. I got 42 freebie optins and 4 buyer optins. I spent $100 and made about $40 so my total investment was $60.

I am going to test out putting up a FREE WSO with my video marketing report since I’ve used my WordPress training as a FREE WSO before and received about the same amount of optins and posting a FREE WSO only costs $40 instead of $100.

3. Warrior forum Banner Advertising Guidelines: Before you upload a banner be sure to read and follow EACH AND EVERY guideline they have in place. Your banner WILL NOT get approved if you do not follow all of their guidelines.

4. Pixlr Editor: I did not mention this in the video but if you do not have an image editor/creator you can use this online based tool to make simple banners. (no software to download)

I just want to quickly mention as well that I am a huge advocate of reinvesting the income from my list building efforts back into my business to grow my list faster. In my last update I mentioned that the guest article that was published on Kim Roach’s Blog resulted in about 12 sales or so.

In total it’s been well over $200 in profit that I made from that article which I used to purchase the banner ad. The banner ad made about $40 which I’m going to reinvest yet again along with the other income I made from the article. Once you have a proven funnel you can easily pour money into advertising and continue recycling the income your funnel produces to buy more advertising.

That is it for this weeks update! I hope you found it useful. Also stay tuned for my next article which is going to break down exactly how I have my funnel set up from squeeze page to autoresponder sequence.

158 Subscribers in 7 Days – Using FREE Strategies

Hey Hey!

I’m back with update video #2. This update is quite exciting since I focused on some more free strategies this past week. Although I did get a lot less subscribers this week then Update video #1 I got a lot more quality subscribers this week.

I firmly believe that there are different levels to the quality of the subscriber you are getting depending where that person is coming from. Of course a buyer subscriber is way at the top. One buyer subscriber can easily be worth 10 times a free subscriber.

Although I did get quite a bit of subscribers from Solo ads in the first week you have to keep in mind that solo ad vendors mail their list anywhere from 3-6 times per day with a TON of different offers. So a subscriber from a solo ad can easily be on 10-15 other lists, if not more. So it becomes a little harder to convert those people into buyers, fans, etc. But solo ads are still a GREAT and FAST way to add subscribers to your list.

Let’s now jump into Update Video #2:

158 Subscribers in 7 Days:

Resources Mentioned in The Video:

1. Kim Roach’s Traffic Dashboard Training: I can’t recommend her training enough. A lot of the strategies I am using in my business are a direct result of what I’ve learned in Kim’s training. She is a traffic generating machine!

2. How I Sold 450 Copies of My First Product: This is the guest post that Kim published on her blog which has resulted in some really amazing results. In the update video I mentioned I got about 12 buyers on my list from that article but as I write this it’s well over 20 buyers and over 80 subscribers through the other links in the article which lead to free offers.

3. Make Money Online Warrior Forum Section: This is a section in the Warrior Forum where you can post links to articles on your blog, free ebooks (with links in the ebook to your product/squeeze page) etc. This is a great strategy for getting some extra subscribers to your list on weekly basis.

That is it for this weeks update. I am definitely going to be doing a lot more guest blogging moving forward as I think it is a truly exceptional way to get high quality subscribers by providing top notch content.

Also as I mentioned in the video, since starting my 10k Subscriber journey I have started to receive a lot more subscribers coming from my blog. So it’s important to keep in mind that if you are getting traffic to your site you definitely want to be capturing some of those visitors with a pop up capture form, sidebar optin, end of post optin etc. I personally use Popup Domination on this blog to capture a good number of leads.

583 Subcribers in 9 Days – Update 1

Hey Guys,

Thank you for joining in on my journey to reach 10,000 subscribers by December 31, 2012. If this is your first time on my blog and you want to know what my 10,000 subscriber journey is you can view post #1 here.

But in short I have set a goal for myself to reach 10,000 subscribers by the end of this year and document my entire journey on a week by week basis. This is the update video number 1 and I will be going over what I’ve done over the last 9 days to get over 583 subscribers.

For some of you this may seem like a lot and for others this may seem like a little. Either way I want you guys to know that just two years ago I knew absolutely nothing about online marketing. I had to go out there become a sponge and learn everything I needed to build a successful business online.

Then from there I took MASSIVE action and I continue to hustle till this day. If you are just getting started online then I want you to know that I’m rooting for you. Wherever you decide to take your business online just make sure you hustle and keep taking action. Also start considering to build an email list of your own.

There are many ways to build an income online but when you are able to build a loyal following, that is when you are building a true business instead of just an income.

With that being said let’s jump into this bad boy:

583 Subscribers in 9 days:

So far this past week I invested quite a bit into Solo Ads. If you do not know what solo ads are it’s basically paying another email marketer to email their list about your offer. You can typically find solo ad sellers selling between $15-$200 for 50-500 clicks.

You are basically buying traffic, meaning that you are going to have to make sure your squeeze page is set up correctly so that it converts when the seller starts to send you clicks. Also if you have your funnel set up correctly then you can make money while building your list and then reinvest that money back into buying more solos.

Another source that I used this past week was posting a FREE WSO. A WSO is a known as a Warrior Special Offer. Although I have posted 2 paid products with great results you can also use it to post a free ebook or free video training that you offer for the price of an optin.

Everytime I’ve posted a Free WSO I typically get between 40-60 optins per post. It does cost $40 to post a WSO whether it’s free or paid.

The two offer’s that I’m using to build my list are:

1. My Free WordPress Training

2. My Free Video Marketing Report.

That is pretty much for this weeks update video. If you have any questions at all I would love to hear from you in the comments area below.

This coming week is going to be a very exciting week filled with a few free strategies that I’m using to build my list you do not want to miss out.

A Journey to 10,000 Subscibers <-- Can I make it?

My Journey To 10,000 Subscribers:

Hey guys first off I want to welcome you to my blog and taking the time to either read this or watch the above video. What this post is all about is to invite you on a journey with me to building a successful business online.

But before I get into what the journey is going to entail I want to take you back and share with you how I got started online. I got started online back in October 2010 and prior to that I knew absolutely NOTHING about online marketing.

And when I mean nothing I mean absolutely NOTHING! I didn’t know what WordPress was, hosting, c-panel, traffic generation, squeeze pages, sales funnels, SEO, jv’s, affiliates, NOTHING… If you were to look at the dictionary under “Internet Marketing Newbie” You would see my face on there.

One thing I did know however was that people were making a living online and making a good income. So I made it my personal mission to find out exactly what these people were doing to make all this cash from the internet.

In October of 2010 I purchased a training that cost me $2,000 to get started with and it taught me EVERYTHING that I needed to learn about online marketing. I learned  how to research a niche, how to create a squeeze page, how to drive traffic, how to build a list, how to use an autoresponder , etc. All of the tools and skills to building a successful business online….

…but if I fast forward 2 years, although I’m making a good income online, I find my income being scattered all over the internet from 3 different sources and not really giving 100% of my effort to any one thing. I’m making money from my SEO niche sites, video marketing, from my email list, and as of recently from product creation. Now all of this may sound great and all, I feel like I can be doing a lot more if I just focus my 100% energy on one thing.

Some of you may relate to this if you find yourself buying product after product, jumping from one project to another, chasing after the shiny objects. That’s how I still feel today since I’m scattered everywhere. I think it’s time to really put my big boy pants on and FOCUS!

I want to focus my energy on building a true business online instead of just an income. Building an income is great and all but when you can build a true business online that has brand value and a strong loyal following that is when you get into the big leagues.

So the purpose of this journey is to invite you to join me as I build a true business online. The way that I’m planning to do that is by building a list of loyal subscribers. My goal for the rest of this year is to hit 10,000 subscribers by the end of this year.

I’m at 5,000 subscribers so far that I’ve built up over the last 2 years but I really want to double that over the next 3 months. Not only that but I plan on sharing EVERYTHING I will be doing to accomplish this goal with you on a weekly basis which is why I am openly inviting you to join me on this journey.

So If you woud like to join me then I look forward to sharing with you everything I will be doing on a weekly basis to build my subscribers list. If you want to stay up to date with my journey then be sure to subscribe to my list to be notified when a new update is posted.

To our Mutual Success,

P.S. I would love to hear from you in the comments area below. Where you’re from? Where you are in your online business? What you are struggling with the most? or anything that you feel like sharing with me..

3 Keys to Successful Traffic Buying Anyone Can Apply

Hey guys! It’s been quite a while since I posted an article here on my blog and there’s good reason for that. I was drilling down and really working hard to rank my niche sites and I was actually doing quite well.

I had reached the point where I was getting about 10,000 visitors per month to my various blogs but from one day to the next and the latest Google Penguin Update I lost 90% of my traffic.

Now everyone is really riding the “What is Google Penguin” train right now and Google isn’t really going to go into detail about who the update was really targeting but I know I had the BEST content in my various niches as I ALWAYS put content and user experience over rankings. Yet my sites still got hit.

But hey that’s business and at the end of the day Google can do what ever they want to do. Instead of rolling in my own pity I decided to do something about it and restructure by business. I have now moved on to paid traffic and I do not know why I didn’t just start there from the beginning.

It’s an undeniable fact that buying your traffic is one of the FASTEST ways to get traffic to your offers. Whether it’s through pay per click, cost per view, banner buys, or social media, putting money down and buying your traffic can bring you results faster than just about any method out there.

The problem is, most people have no idea how to do it, and what the key factors are for a successful campaign I know I didn’t before coming across Chad Hamzeh and his Traffic Blackbook Training.

In this article, I’m going to teach you the 3 things to consistently apply if you want to have any chance of success with converting your traffic into sales.

1. Target a Specific Market

Too often, marketers start their campaigns with the wrong questions. They ask themselves, “What offer has the highest payout”, or “How much money can I make promoting this?”. They tend to forget that they’re marketing to actual PEOPLE.

The first step is to ask yourself, “who am I marketing to?”. Better yet, “who is my prospect, and what do they want?” Create a really in depth image of who your customer is, what are their fears and desires. What problems do they have, and how can you help solve them?

Find large markets to focus in, and then splinter and segment them down to more manageable parts. Find a segment of a high volume market that has a specific desire and see if you can fulfill that.

The most successful marketers focus on 1 or 2 markets, and 1 or 2 traffic channels. They don’t bounce around hopping (and hoping) from one thing to the next.

2. Market a Converting Offer

Basically, sending a million clicks to an offer no one wants will just cost you money. To find a converting offer, the first thing I recommend for CPA affiliate marketers is to have a good relationship with your affiliate manager. You will want to test and rotate a couple of their top recommendations to see if you can find a winner. (CPA marketing is the model I have decided to target with my paid traffic)

If you’re promoting Clickbank products, stick with the products that you see promoted the most with the highest traffic levels. Use Compete.com to check traffic levels for specific clickbank vendors, and if they have high popularity/gravity as well as high historical traffic, it’s worth rotating and testing that offer.

Now, if you’re a product owner, you’re going to want deeper pockets. Basically, you’re going to need to drive traffic to your offer and test different aspects of your offer. These could be price, trial offers, continuity options, etc.

Again, the offer is very important. If you are sending actual humans to your offer/page and you’re not converting, then it’s the offer and presentation of the offer that is wrong, or you’ve completely targeted the wrong market. You haven’t picked the right offer for that market.

3. Become a Click Through Rate GOD

Your click through rate is the number of times your ad gets clicked vs. the number of times it gets shown. So, if your ad is clicked 4 times out of 100 views (impressions), you have a click through rate of 4%.

The fact is, on almost all paid traffic platforms, having a high click through rate will make your traffic cheaper.

A few good ways to improve your click through rate are:

  • Bid high. For the majority of platforms, with the exception of FB among others, your bid dictates your positioning in the ad queue. Bidding high enough to be shown in good positions (2-3) will get your ads clicked on more often for keywords/placements that sell. But, regardless of the platform, if your bids are way too low, you won’t get very many impressions. This is why I set a lower budget but keep my bids high, it helps me get the data I need without going broke!
  •  Using shock, fear, numbers, and question marks in your ads. You’ve probably all heard this before, but it’s essential. I will show some of my ads in the case study.
  • And of course, focus on selling benefits and not features. Most people don’t care about you or the features of your service, they want to know what’s in it for them.

So there you have it. Master those 3 aspects of your online marketing, especially with paid advertising, and you can begin to write your own ticket (and your own checks!).

9 Steps To Proper On Page Optimization <--Step by Step Video

Alright guys lets go ahead and move it right along in my SEO series. In todays lesson I want to cover setting up each blog post to have proper on page optimization so that you can collect some extra search engine traffic.

In case you missed my previous post on Proper Keyword Research make sure you go through that first.  If you already did that then in this article I want to quickly cover how to set up each  of your blog posts with Proper On Page optimization so that Google knows exactly what your article is about.

If done properly and the keyword you are going after has very little competition you can rank on the first page of Google from proper On page Optimization ALONE. For those of you that rather watch me explain this live on video you can watch the video below.

I apologize about the audio  — I definitely need a new Mic 8)

Proper On Page Optimization: Video

So let’s assume you have chosen your target keyword and have already written your content.
on page optimization(if you rather outsource your content you can read this article I put together on how I get articles written for me for as little as $2)

There are a few places that for me are “Mandatory” to have my keyword.

They are:

1. In the Main Title
2. In the first sentence bolded
3. In the middle of the article as a
clickable link (linking to the post)
4. In italics in the last paragraph.
5. As the “Alt Text” on at least one
image
6. In the H1, H2, H3 Tags (when possible but ALWAYS H1 at least)
7. In the Meta Title (done via an SEO plugin like All in on SEO, Gregs High Performance SEO, or WordPress Yoast SEO plugin)
8. In the Meta Description (done via an SEO plugin like All in on SEO, Gregs High Performance SEO, or WordPress Yoast SEO plugin)
9. In the URL

Now this is can be a little overwhelming to remember if you are just starting out in SEO. So if you want something that can do this for you automatically I recommend a cool plugin called SEOPressor which is basically like having an SEO expert looking over your shoulder telling you what you can do to improve your article to improve the optimization.

That is pretty much it when it comes to having proper on page optimization and as I mentioned before doing this ALONE can hugely benefit the traffic you are getting from the search engines.

I hope you found this tip useful and have a better understanding of how on page optimization works. If you have any questions or are not clear on something just leave me a comment below.

EXPOSED: How To Do Keyword Research Properly To Cash in on SEO

Hey Hey Guys,

Today I want to cover how I perform my keyword research when going after organic traffic.

Before I actually get into it I’m going to quickly cover What in the world is a Keyword and the two types of keywords you can target for best results.

I’m also going to show you a real life case study on how I do the keyword research and evaluate a few keywords for you.

Keyword Research Tips: What is it?

Before I get into proper keyword research I want to get into what a keyword is. I want to make this article both newbie and advanced friendly. So if you are advanced then most people skip on to the research section below.

A keyword in it’s simplest form is the words you type into the search form before you hit “submit” in Google. So let’s say you go to Google.com and type in “Best Golf Destinations” <–that is called a keyword.

If your blog is about the ‘best golf destinations’ then your goal would be to get your article on page one for that specific search term. (assuming people are actually searching for information on that)

Now let’s get into the two types of Keywords:

1. Short Tail Keyword (Regular Keyword): A regular keyword is basically terms that are from 1-2 terms in length like “Golf” “Play Golf” “Golf Destinations” etc. These type of short keywords are typically very competitive and harder to rank for.

2. Long Tail Keywords: A long tail keywords are typically terms that contain more then 3 words like “the best golf destinations in florida” or “how to improve your golf swing quickly” etc. These type of terms usually contain a little less of a search volume but are way less competitive and easier to rank for.

If you are just starting out in SEO I would highly recommend targeting some long tail keywords and get your confidence up. You can rank for a low competition long tail keyword in as little as 2 weeks to a month depending on the competition and the age and authority of your website.

Now that we got that out of the way let’s get into how to actually find some keywords we can rank for that will bring in great quality traffic to your site.

Keyword Research Tips: Finding the Golden Words

Let’s have a look at finding some great keywords.

I personally like targeting ‘buyer keywords’ . An example of this is:

  • Anything with the word Review or Reviews at the end i.e “plasma tv reviews”
  • Specific Brand/model number Keywords like ‘nikon D2100’
  • ‘How To’ keywords ‘how to play golf’ ‘how to cure a cold’ etc. If you can provide a solution this can be golden.

These are the types of keywords I like to target because the conversion rates for these keywords are WAY higher.

Now that you know the keywords I like to target the next step is to find keywords that actually have search volume. To do this we have to open up Google’s Keyword Tool and type in a potential keyword I want to target.

Now there is one thing you have to keep in mind, to the left hand side you will see 3 boxes:

  • One Says Broad (checked by default)
  • One says Exact
  • and the last one says Phrase.

You want to make sure you untick ‘broad’ and make sure you tick on ‘exact’. The reason for this is ‘exact’ will give you the real number of the amount of people who are searching for the EXACT keyword you are evaluating.

DO NOT fall for those gurus who say I am ranking number 1 for a keyword that gets 30,000 searches per month with the ‘broad’ match ticked on.

So from now on be sure you are always using “EXACT”

Now we have to find Keywords that have search volume.

If I were to write all of this into an article it will end up being over 3,000 words and I don’t expect you to be here reading such a long article so for times sake I decided to put together a quick video to show you exactly how I find keywords and show you the exact steps I take.

How To save over $50 if you decide to buy Market Samurai:

1. Download The Free Trial

2. You will immediately be offered to buy it for $97 on the thank you page.

This is the only way to get it at this huge discount. I bought it immediately but I think the $97 link is active for 7 days.

If you buy it retail it will be $149 which is still worth every penny.

I hope these tips help you out in some way.
